SIMULACRA 2 is the latest release from Kaigan Games, and is the long-awaited sequel to the studio’s award-winning “found phone” horror game SIMULACRA.
The game involves investigating the death of an influencer by piecing together clues left behind on her phone, as well as questioning those closest to her. Like its predecessors, the game’s narrative takes place entirely through the screen of a mobile phone, giving players the immersive experience of uncovering a story in real-time.
This time however, players will receive the help of a detective obsessed with the supernatural, and can choose to roleplay as either a detective or a journalist themselves. In addition to the familiar social media apps from before, SIMULACRA 2 also features a new app called WARDEN, a data recovery tool capable of restoring the phone’s lost data.
The game encompasses a more complex non-linear narrative, an expanded live ensemble cast, and an original soundtrack. Aside from offering an unnerving atmosphere of horror, SIMULACRA 2 also explores the world of social media and the effects of living your life in the public eye.
