In Celebration of Violence is a fantasy roguelike action adventure of exploration and murder. Players move through large open lands exploring, finding/crafting/purchasing items, killing enemies, and gaining experience while preparing to fight the area’s boss. The combat is fast but methodical, requiring the player to plan their attacks, dodges, blocks, and parries while considering their opponents and the environment.
Death is permanent but players can improve their stats and discover items to aid them during future endeavors. There is a heavy element of risk involved in deciding when to spend your resources. The entire world, even the ground you traverse, suffers from amnesia and experience bled from those you slay is your most important currency. Do you spend your experience on short-term safety or save it for your next attempt?
