JumpStick announces the upcoming release of their game DownStream available on Steam 28 August 2019. DownStream is a high-speed whitewater kayak racing game made exclusively for VR. The unique input and immersion of VR lends itself perfectly to driving the kayak physics. Add in the dynamic rushing water sounds, high-octane sound track and it makes for a truly unique experience.
The main aim is to get to the finish line in the fastest time and in 1 piece! Other player’s runs are shown as other kayakers in the water with you to give you that extra encouragement to beat your friends.
History
"Our goal when making a VR game began with us basically thinking ‘what would we like to play in VR’? Kayaking just seemed like a really fun and immersive idea. It’s such an intense, fast paced sport and we thought we’d try to capture those exhilarating feelings in VR. The sounds of the water, fast currents, tight turns, drops, feeling the paddles in the water- it’s all brought to life with VR in a way that just wouldn’t translate to a normal PC game." - Rachael from JumpStick.
