Chapeau is a quirky multiplayer platformer with hats for up to 4 players, developed by a small independent game development studio based in Salzburg, Austria. Chapeau offers something new by mixing the platformer and party game genre with a quirky theme and an original way for players to move around. Playing with your friends or bots you challenge each other in a variety of different game modes while engaging in fast-paced mid-air combat. You will have to try your best to stay ahead while fluidly jumping, gliding and dashing through beautifully crafted levels, inspired by Austria’s historic city centres. Keep your momentum going to move faster, snatch any objectives away from your competition, and avoid falling to the ground by using the environment and roaming people to your advantage! Choose your favourite hat from an array of different characters, all with their own personality and names. Each hat comes in a variety of different customizations, to make sure everyone sees and knows who you are when you beat them! Hats come in all shapes and sizes, this is why every hat plays differently, depending on their weight class. Light hats fly farther but are slower, heavy hats are faster but harder to control. Chapeau started out as a master’s degree graduation project at the University of Applied Science Salzburg. The project team includes Gregor Kirchhofer, Mathias Lillich, Lukas Wagner, Tom Langer, Stefan Schwab, Bibiana Traxler, Johannes Lugstein and Michael Hofer. Since then the project continued to grow and is being finalized by the newly found independent development studio Salt Castle Studio.
